Mike Barnes

Mike Barnes has spent almost his entire life as a Bay Area resident and was raised with a deep appreciation of California’s diverse ecosystems. His time spent on the waterways and trails of California led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and Resource Management from the University California, Berkeley. Following graduation, he began a career in environmental consulting.

With over 23 years of experience in environmental consulting he has become highly experienced in project management, client interaction, and stakeholder engagement. He has managed multiple high-profile investigation and remediation projects from both the public and private sector, including commercial clients, public utilities, the Federal Government, industry, and real estate developers.

Mike joined Craig Communications as Managing Director in early 2022 bringing his experience with both large international and smaller environmental consulting firms to support project management, business development, and development of creative outreach programs that authentically engage communities at a meaningful level.
